South Dakota Mines receives grant money for mine safety training

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The US Department of Labor has awarded $10.5 million in grants to support mine safety training across the country. The grants were issued by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), one of them ending up in South Dakota. The South Dakota MSHA State Grants Program was awarded $106,316 to support its own mine safety training program. The program has already trained nearly 3,600 mining professionals from across the country since it started in 2003.
