Rain, gusty winds expected on Sunday

A low-pressure system will be moving across our region on Sunday bringing rain, gusty winds and cooler temperatures. Spotty showers will be possible, mainly after midnight on Sunday. Rain will spread into the area from the south through Sunday morning and afternoon. Rain will stay in the forecast through early Monday morning.

Rainfall amounts will range from a trace to 0.50 inches across Southern Middle Tennessee with higher amounts generally south of the Tennessee River. This is where isolated higher totals of one inch will be possible, especially across parts of Franklin and Lawrence Counties.

Winds will be strong throughout the day Sunday, with sustained winds between 15 and 25 mph. Gusts could be around 30 mph with higher gusts of 35 mph, especially in the mountains.
