8. Henley Bridge – 1,793 Feet Long

The Henley Street Bridge in Knoxville , TN crosses over the Tennessee River. It was built in 1931 and is named for Colonel David Henley, a Revolutionary War officer who was stationed in Knoxville in the 1790s. The bridge is one of four vehicular bridges which cross the Tennessee River in downtown Knoxville. The bridge is a reinforced concrete open-spandrel arch bridge with six double-ribbed arches connected with lateral bracing.

The design for the bridge was submitted in the early 1920s, though there was a vast amount of arguing over the size and most everything else that would make the bridge which delayed it tremendously.
