West Virginia VFW Posts collecting disaster relief for Helene victims in Tennessee and North Carolina

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — All VFW Posts across West Virginia are collecting emergency relief supplies for people in Tennessee and North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene.

According to a post on the “VFW Post 9926, Mason WV” Facebook page , relief centers in the disaster area are requesting items such as: bottled water, hydration packs, toiletries, blankets, shoes, pet food, socks, underwear and other clothing needs, paper towels, toilet paper, non-perishable food, adult and children’s diapers, baby wipes, trash bags, feminine hygiene products and cleaning supplies.

“Mason VFW and VFW Post 9926 Auxiliary Post will be the main collection point for District 2,” the post said.

Financial donations can be made by check to the WV State HQ with a memo/note of Disaster Relief NC, Disaster Relief TN or Disaster Relief Both.

The target delivery date is Oct. 13-14.
