As donation centers run out of room, Bristol Motor Speedway becomes central collection site

Tennessee’s volunteer spirit means the state has come together to help East Tennessee in its time of need. But the outpouring of support has created a good problem; donation centers are running out of room. Here’s how you can still help.

Bristol Motor Speedway has been designated the Northeast Tennessee Disaster Relief Center, in coordination with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.

Donations of water, food, batteries, household items and cleanup equipment have poured into flood-damaged communities. While those items help to meet the needs of those who have lost everything in flooding that damaged or destroyed homes and businesses, the outpouring of practical support has left some locations short of space to keep it all until it can be distributed.
