Suspect in throat cutting incident in West Salem arrested in Tennessee

WEST SALEM, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The West Salem Police Department says 59-year-old Paul Stokes was arrested in Tennessee yesterday in connection with the throat-cutting incident in West Salem. Police found a man with his throat cut at 341 Jefferson Street East in West Salem Monday Night and Stokes was identified as a suspect.

Police say he missed a load delivery in Genoa and fled out of state with his truck and trailer. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and Stokes was taken into custody near Dresden, Tennessee Tuesday afternoon. He is awaiting extradition within the Weakley County Detention Center.
