Canyon Lake has remained nearly full in the week since heavy rain and flooding swept across the Texas Hill Country, with water levels undergoing only minor fluctuations.
As of Friday, October 9, the beloved reservoir was 97.8% full, with a mean water level of 907.99 feet, according to Water Data for Texas.
That is just 0.1 percentage point higher than one week ago, when the lake was 97.7% full on October 2. The reservoir briefly reached 97.9% full earlier this week before dipping slightly.
Canyon Lake water levels remain steady
Canyon Lake’s water level has undergone minor fluctuations since last week’s storms. The reservoir reached 908.03 feet on Wednesday, October 7, before slipping to 908.01 feet Thursday and 907.99 feet Friday.
The lake’s current level is about 0.9 feet below its reading one month ago, when it was 99.7% full on September 9. Its surface area has also decreased from 8,223 acres at that time to 8,120 acres on October 9, according to Water Data for Texas…
