US Senate Kills Border Bill as Governor Abbott Unveils Border Plan

The border bill that Congress has been working on has been killed in the Senate. This also could kill the President’s aid to support Ukraine and Israel which is expected to get voted on.

NBC News said the Senate will vote on the foreign aid bill today.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said according to NBC News:

“It looks to me, and to most of our members, as if we have no real chance here to make a law.”

The bill states according to Newsweek:

“The United States District Court for the District of Columbia shall have sole and original jurisdiction to hear challenges, whether constitutional or otherwise, to the validity of this section or any written policy directive, written policy guideline, written procedure, or the implementation thereof.”

Republican lawmakers voted against the border bill. According to CNN GOP Josh Hawley a critic of Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said:

“I just don’t think the last three months could have been handled any worse. Why would voters look at what goes on over here — the circus — and say, ‘Yeah. We want more of this?’”
