During a recent news conference on border security, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) delivered scathing criticism of the National Security Bill introduced by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) over the weekend, denouncing it as a “steaming pile of crap” and accusing Democrats of prioritizing political posturing over border security.
Senator Cruz slammed the proposed legislation, asserting it fails to address the pressing issue of illegal immigration.
He blamed President Joe Biden for exacerbating the crisis, citing executive decisions made in the early days of his administration.
“This bill codified Joe Biden’s open borders,” Senator Cruz declared, criticizing provisions such as Catch and Release and the normalization of daily illegal immigrant influxes.
Senator Cruz went on to highlight specific grievances with the bill, including its allocation of work permits and government-funded legal representation for illegal immigrants.
He described the measure’s targeting of Texas courts as “noxious,” emphasizing the impact on border state litigation.
