Hurricane Beryl has blasted through the Caribbean, is on track to move across Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, then it’s on to the Gulf of Mexico as a Tropical Storm before – possibly – moving into South Texas as a Hurricane again as early as late this weekend.

Many of the models the National Hurricane Center follows show what is expected to be a category one hurricane arriving in Northern Mexico and Southern Texas late this weekend or early next week.

Hurricane Beryl follows Tropical Storm Alberto – which dumped some rain on South Texas and caused significant flooding around the East Texas / Houston area last month.
Although Beryl will have lost much of its punch after decimating Caribbean Islands (primarily the Grenadines) as a Category 5 & Category 4 storm by the time it is anticipated to arrive on the Northern Mexico and Southern Texas Gulf coasts – it still is expected to pack marginal hurricane-force winds, produce dangerous surf conditions, and could result in significant rainfall which could cause flooding.
