Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared a statewide moment of silence to be observed on October 7 at 7:00 a.m. CDT in remembrance of those lost in last year’s terrorist attacks in Israel. The proclamation, which comes on the grim one-year anniversary of the violence attributed to Hamas, aims to honor both victims and survivors, including seven Americans who remain hostages. Flags across the state are to be lowered to half-staff in a gesture of mourning and solidarity with the State of Israel.
