Texas Cancer Center comes up with ingenuitive way to help patients affordably stay close to care

As healthcare costs surge, patients at MD Anderson Cancer Center are discovering a unique way to save on housing: RV living. With medical bills rising, accessible housing solutions are crucial, and Blue Water RV Resorts is offering just that, providing a comfortable and affordable alternative near the hospital.

One standout is Jetstream Med Center RV Resort, managed by Blue Water and located just minutes from MD Anderson. Currently, the resort hosts around 60 cancer patients and their families. Equipped with bathhouses, laundry services, and outdoor amenities like pools and BBQ grills, Jetstream creates a supportive environment that feels like home. Soon, a shuttle will be added to transport patients directly to the cancer center.

According to surveys, Jetstream patients save roughly $500 to $600 monthly compared to traditional housing, letting them focus on healing rather than finances.
