The first changes in more than 50 years have been made regarding management of mountain lions in Texas. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission unanimously approved regulations banning canned hunts (the capture and later release of a mountain lion for the purpose of hunting or pursuing with hounds) and implementing a 36-hour trapping standard for live lions.
