Texas driver’s license offices closed due to unspecified ‘outage’

Driver’s license offices across Texas shut down early on Monday due to an “outage,” according to a social media post by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

“Our staff is working with affected customers to reschedule their appointments as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused,” the agency said in a post on X that noted that offices would be closed Tuesday and Wednesday in observance of the New Year.

That means that driver’s license offices across the state won’t be open until Thursday.

DPS did not immediately return requests for comment seeking specific details about the outage.
