Dallas County is the seventh least insured county in the nation and is getting worse, according to data from County Health Rankings and Roadmaps compiled by financial technology company SmartAssett. Of the major metropolitan areas in the state, Dallas is the least uninsured. Texas has the nation’s largest percentage of uninsured residents at 21.7 percent, more than double the national average of 11 percent.
