Years after a Riverdale mobile home park was rezoned and dozens of residents were evicted from their homes, the since-vacant parcel of land is now slated to become a car dealership.
On Oct. 20, members of the Riverdale City Council voted 4-1 to approve a site plan application for a CarMax Auto Superstores location at 671 W. 4400 South. The pre-owned car dealership would be built on a 5.5 acre parcel zoned as Regional Commercial (C-3).
Weber County residents might remember the site as the former home of Lesley’s Mobile Home Park, an area that housed 55 lots. Back in May 2023, all residents were evicted from the site, with some paying thousands of dollars to move their mobile homes or abandoning the homes altogether, according to reporting from KSL.com.
