SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — Happy Sunday, Utah! It’s been a chilly few days for the Beehive State, but a warmup is already underway! The north warms back up to seasonal temperatures today which means highs in the low/mid 60s for most and upper 50s for the Wasatch Back. Southern Utah is a day behind, so today will still be on the cooler side with daytime highs in the 50s for most with a few 60s and low 70s in the warmer spots. Mostly clear skies are on deck for valleys and partly cloudy skies over high terrain.
The low pressure system that brought us the cold spell and moisture is on its way out, but not everyone is free of wet weather just yet. Eastern Utah is looking at another round of isolated showers thanks to the wraparound moisture as the system exits east. Higher elevations will be favored with the most precipitation potential in east-central and southeast Utah. In the late afternoon we could see showers work their way up to northern mountains as well. It won’t be nearly as soggy as it was a couple days ago, but showers could still be present with a chance of thunderstorms near the Blanding area. Snow levels should stay above 8,000 feet, so brief spurts of snow will be reserved mainly for mountaintops.
