SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) – Happy Monday, Utah! It’s been a soggy weekend, but we’re kicking off the workweek with dry skies as high pressure pushes this weekend’s moisture out to the east.
The bottom line? A frigid week is ahead with a brief round of valley snow possible.
While today gives us a break from the wet weather, we won’t be warming up just yet. We’ll be looking at sunny to mostly sunny skies statewide but temperatures will run about the same as yesterday. That means daytime highs will be in the low to mid-40s in valleys, 30s in the high country, and mid to upper 50s for warm areas down south. Overnight lows will be right around freezing on valley floors, teens to low 20s for higher elevations, and mid-30s for the St. George area.
Expect to wake up with frosty grass and roof shingles for the next few days because another cold front is set to move in and drop temperatures a couple more degrees early Tuesday morning. Tuesday’s cold front will initially bring valley rain before transitioning to snow showers overnight in northern and central Utah valleys.
