SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) – Happy Tuesday, Utah! Our Election Day weather will feature breezy and chilly temperatures. We will start the day with plenty of clouds and mainly dry conditions.
Bottom Line?! Breezy and chilly Election Day with scattered afternoon snow showers developing.
A cold front will help to spark northwest flow, leading to mountain snow showers developing by midday. That snow could even spread into the valley areas during the afternoon and early evening hours.
The activity will be scattered and mainly light, so no major impacts are expected. However, don’t be surprised to see some snow showers and maybe a light dusting up to an inch in some locations during the afternoon hours.
By late Tuesday afternoon and evening, scattered snow showers will spread into central Utah. Overnight, winds pick up again near Black Ridge Canyon, possibly reaching 45 mph. Light snowfall amounts are expected in mountain areas with a couple of inches expected to accumulate. Some of the higher mountain ranges like the Western Uintas, and the Upper Cottonwoods could see higher snowfall amounts closer to four inches, especially if lake effect moisture picks up Tuesday evening.
