SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — Happy Monday, Utah! One more day of warm weather before we get a chilly reminder that winter’s on its way, especially in northern Utah.
A ridge near the Four-Corner region is shifting east, making room for a cold front expected to cross northern Utah early Tuesday morning. This could bring some moderate to heavy precipitation, with a quick drop in snow levels that might reach valley floors, but any accumulation should be light.

The trough and colder air that is moving in on Tuesday is expected to bring around 6-12+ inches of snow to the upper Cottonwoods, leading to a winter weather advisory for the Wasatch Mountains. Most other mountain areas are forecast to receive 4-10″ of snowfall. The advisory is from 5 a.m. Tuesday to 7 p.m. Plan on winter driving conditions in our mountain areas with accumulating snowfall above 6,000 feet. Some of the heaviest showers are expected Tuesday morning around the morning commute.
