SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) – Happy Christmas Eve, Utah! Our Tuesday will feature a mix of clouds and sunshine along with plenty of northern valley haze.
Bottom Line?! Hazy with a mix of clouds and sun for Christmas Eve, then rain and snow arrive Tuesday night into Christmas morning.
Highs will warm into the upper 40s to lower 50s north, and low 60s south. Tuesday evening the clouds will really begin to increase ahead of our Christmas storm which will arrive after 8 p.m. Christmas Eve evening, across western Utah, then spread across the rest of the state during the overnight period as Santa moves through the region.
Valley snow will likely range from a dusting to about an inch, with maybe three to six inches expected in the Cottonwoods. Meanwhile, southern Utah will see an increase in precipitation, with up to five to 10 inches around Brian Head.
Winter driving conditions are still expected late Tuesday through Wednesday, especially over mountain passes. The precip will come to an end from northwest to southeast by Christmas Day afternoon with highs struggling to reach the upper 30s to lower 40s.
