Mail mayhem! Sen. Tim Kaine to host roundtable in response to significant postal issues across Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Following months of significant mail delays and theft plaguing Virginia residents, state leaders are continuing to search for a solution.

Democratic Senator Tim Kaine is holding a roundtable meeting at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture. Kaine, along with several local leaders, will discuss the “unacceptable mail delivery delays and disruptions impacting Virginians.”

The meeting comes after other Virginia leaders tried to get answers from the U.S. postal service but were repeatedly rejected.

Kaine is now pulling together community leaders and other top officials to get to the root of the problem and provide long-awaited answers to frustrated residents.

Earlier this week, officials learned that hundreds of colon cancer test samples were delivered after their 15-day window, rendering them invalid .

However, it’s not just the mailing delays that residents are demanding answers for. Residents have reported vandalized mailboxes , stolen packages , and even internal issues like staffing shortages.
