Benny Nicola’s pizza is highly recommended
Trip Advisor has listed its picks for the top 25 pizza restaurants in the Commonwealth. One-third of the listings (8 locations) are in Richmond and most of the others are in Northern Virginia, Tidewater, and Virginia Beach areas. Number 15, however, is Benny Nicola’s in Radford The home of the Virginia slice.
Located at 1018 Clement Street website says the restaurant is building upon the original Benedito’s persona. “Nicola” was inspired by Nikola Tesla a Serbian American who modernized electricity.
The k in the name was replaced with a c to modify it to a more feminine spelling because Radford University is known as the sister school of Virginia Tech. Benny Nicola’s has been in business since 2013 and prides themselves on staying open late on weekends till 2:00 am and serving 28-inch slices.
