WRIC just gave an update about the mysterious outbreaks of E. coli, 25 people, including children who were at the lake on Memorial Day weekend, have been infected.

Tests show the lake does not have a higher-than-normal level of toxins. Authorities now say that runoff water from nearby farms may be the problem. However, WTOP reported that one person interviewed suggested that people may have used the water as a restroom.

Three deaths at the lake

PEOPLE reported that a father and son were visiting Lake Anna for the Memorial Day holiday when the son went underwater. The father tried to save him, and they both drowned.

WRIC is now reporting that a female body was found floating in the lake, and authorities are investigating. With July 4th coming up, anyone considering visiting the Louisa County lake should take all necessary safety precautions.
