Eversource crews head south to assist in power restoration

Berlin, Conn./WTIC Radio – Crews from Eversource left Connecticut before dawn on Sunday en route to Virginia to help in power restoration as a result from the impacts of Hurricane Helene.

About 40 line crews from Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, along with 20 support personnel are responding.

The Eversource teams will provide support to crews from Appalachian Power.

“This is how mutual aid works, this is what utilities do after a devastating storm – we show up for each other in times of need and I’m proud of our employees who’ve stepped up and they’ll work tirelessly to get power back for the people impacted by this powerful hurricane.” said Eversource Chairman, CEO and President, Joe Nolan.

Approximately 3 million customers are without power from the storm.
