Blue Halloween buckets have a singnificant purpose

Blue and teal Halloween buckets have a special significance

You may have noticed blue Halloween buckets beside traditional orange pumpkin buckets in Virginia stores and wondered what they meant. The color change is more than decorative, as it signifies a child with autism.

Keep in mind that some autistic children are nonverbal and may not be able to say “Trick or Treat” or “Thank you.” If you see teal buckets, this signifies that the home owner is giving out treats that are free of allergens.

Should you encounter a home where teal buckets are part of the decorations or you see children going door to door with blue buckets or having them at a Halloween gathering, you understand why.
