Should Diddy be free on bail?
Good morning, Virginians. This is the latest update regarding Sean Combs. CBS reports that his lawyers have presented a new idea to secure his release before his May 5, 2025 trial.
Beryl L. and Kenny P. from Southwest Virginia say Diddy should remain locked up because he has vast resources and may flee the country. Anita M. from Central Va. says Combs might still find a way to intimidate witnesses once he is released.
Attorneys suggest strict around-the-clock security monitoring and near-total restrictions on his ability to contact anyone but his lawyers. But the amount of money they attach to the package remains $50 million, as they proposed before.
Will Combs be released under new conditions?
The lawyers argued that Combs’s jail conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn violated his constitutional right to participate in his defense. Prosecutors have yet to respond to the request.
Shane H from Virginia Beach says Diddy will not roll over and accept being locked up and is down without a fight. He added the lawyers are earning their money and doing what they have been paid to do but does not believe a judge will set Sean Combs free.
