A police chase on Monday ended in the arrest of a Lowgap man on at least 15 felony charges in North Carolina and Virginia, and his incarceration under a $510,000 secured bond. Preston Craig Hawks, 46, of 1415 Magnolia Street, Lowgap, was arrested and initially charged with felony flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle, misdemeanor reckless driving, and misdemeanor driving while license revoked, according to information released by the Surry County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday.
