AG Ferguson: Providence to Pay $157.8M in Relief for Unlawful Medical Charges

SEATTLE – The Attorney General of Washington, Bob Ferguson, announced a major decision involving Providence Health System. The company has agreed to clear over $137 million in medical debt for nearly 100,000 people. They will also refund more than $20 million to patients who were billed even though they might have qualified for free or reduced-cost care.
