WASHINGTON – A local maintenance worker received an award after saving multiple lives from a house fire near Blewett Pass on Jan. 26. Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) said Brandon Haight was checking conditions on his usual US 97 Blewett Pass route when he noticed an unusual glow and dark smoke coming from behind a residential home near the highway.
