Washington House passes bill requiring energy performance reports before home sales

OLYMPIA, Wash.- A bill allowing cities to require new homes listed for sale to undergo an energy performance report before being sold has passed the Washington State House. HB 1433 is an environmental policy aimed at making the state’s total energy usage more efficient which is cosponsored exclusively by state Democrats. It was initially introduced during the 2023 Legislative Session and passed the House, but it did not make it to the governor’s desk.
