Gov. Inslee signs emergency proclamation due to wildfires, fuel shortage for firefighters

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Washington Gov. Jay Inslee issued a statewide emergency proclamation on Fri., Aug. 2 in response to the many wildfires burning across the state. A news release says since June 2024, the state has experienced very dry weather conditions and exceptionally high temperatures, causing high-risk fuel conditions across the region.
