Cool and Unsettled Weekend Forecast for the Pacific Northwest Washington

Seattle’s weather will remain cool and unsettled this weekend due to an upper-level trough moving southward from British Columbia. The trough will keep skies cloudy and bring showers across western Washington, with rainfall expected to be light—about a quarter inch or less in the lowlands and up to half an inch in higher terrain. Isolated lightning strikes are possible, particularly in the North Cascades, but dense cloud cover is limiting instability.

As the upper-level low continues its southward journey, conditions are expected to dry out on Monday. Onshore flow will still bring occasional convergence showers to the central Puget Sound, with the possibility of locally heavy rain in some areas. Despite this, much of the region will experience sun breaks as drier air moves in.

Looking ahead, high pressure is anticipated to build inland from the west, paving the way for drier and warmer conditions later in the week. Temperatures will remain cool through the short term, with highs in the low to mid 60s and lows in the upper 40s to low 50s.
