Tonight’s Weather:
Expect clear skies and dry conditions tonight as high pressure and a ridge of warm air dominate the weather. Central Oregon is experiencing very dry air, with humidity levels dropping to the teens and even single digits. And chilly overnight lows in the 30s and 40s.
Changes on Friday:
Big changes are on the way for Friday. A cold front and upper-level system will move in from the northwest, bringing gusty winds and cooler temperatures:
- Winds will start increasing after midnight tonight and continue throughout Friday. Central Oregon will see sustained winds of 15-25 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph.
- In the Columbia Gorge and parts of the Basin, winds will be stronger, with sustained speeds of 20-30 mph and gusts up to 45 mph, especially in the Simcoe Highlands and Southern Blue Mountain foothills. Expect these peak winds between 11 AM and 7 PM.
- The dry air will persist for much of the day on Friday, with fire risk remaining high.
