Letter to the editor: WA Cares doesn’t eliminate the ‘only avenue to get long-term care coverage’

Initiative 2124 does not eliminate the “only avenue to get long-term care coverage” as stated by Christina Keys in guest commentary published in The Chronicle. The initiative gives people employed in Washington the opportunity to “opt out” of contributing to WA Cares. If the worker does “opt out,” they would not be eligible for the program. There are many reasons why a person would want to “opt out.”
