Western Washington will enjoy a dry, clear Thursday thanks to lingering high pressure, but that won’t last long. Starting Friday, unsettled weather will take hold as a series of systems bring rain, mountain snow, and breezy conditions through next week.
Expect cloudy skies Thursday afternoon ahead of the first system, which will bring light precipitation Friday morning and heavier rain by Friday night and Saturday. Snow levels will hover around 5000 to 6000 feet, with minimal impact at lower elevations. Winds aren’t expected to be a major concern, with gusts unlikely to exceed 30 mph.
A second system moves in Sunday, bringing rain, mountain snow, and gusty winds, particularly along the coast and mountain passes. Snow levels may drop as low as 4000 feet, with a potential for significant snowfall. By Tuesday, the snow level could dip further to 3500 feet.
