Under a ‘grandma moon,’ Native Americans honor their sacred pact with salmon

In the creation story of the Nisqually Indian Tribe of Washington State, salmon offered themselves to the people first. A contract was made. The people must also care for the salmon. As the Nisqually celebrated the Native American New Year this month, they honored their sacred relationship with the fish. Anna King of Northwest Public Broadcasting reports.
