One of Wisconsin’s biggest Swifties didn’t just get to go to the Grammys this year. Through a twist of fate , she got to be by Taylor Swift when she made Grammys history by winning album of the year for the fourth time .
“I was so happy,” said Katelyn McLaughlin of Sun Prairie. “I was in disbelief that I was there, like literally celebrating with her and cheering her on right there behind her. And, seeing it all happen. It feels like I was living in a dream.”
We first met McLaughlin around Halloween when she created a “ScarEras tour” display in her yard , which featured 10 skeletons dressed up as various eras of Swift. It was featured by People , the New York Post , Fox News’ website , as well as on ” Good Morning America ,” the “Today” show and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
In January, the super fan applied to be a seat filler for the 66th Grammy Awards held Feb. 4 at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena. Swift was nominated for six Grammys this year.
Essentially, seat fillers sit in empty seats during awards shows or TV specials so that when cameras show the audience every seat is filled despite people leaving.
