First measurable snow in 32 days enters tonight

The latest Northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…. It’s the quiet before the storm this afternoon! Low pressure to our southwest has brought in mostly cloudy skies all day long with a few isolated passing flakes. Around 7-9pm late this evening, this system will push in mixed showers from the west. This mix will transition to light snow or a slush with the bulk of the system falling overnight. While accumulation with this system will total for most from 1-3″, with locally higher totals, the main issue will be these warmer temps. With temps hovering around the freezing mark, we get heavier, wetter snow that will become a slush, as well as go through a freezing/refreezing or melting/compacting period overnight through tomorrow. This will make for a tough morning commute tomorrow morning. Nevertheless, the NWS has put out a Winter Weather Advisory that will take effect around 9pm this evening until snow clears out by the lunch hour tomorrow.
