Watch: June tornadoes & when more storms are possible

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – An active weather pattern has led to not only lead to above average rainfall in May and June across much of Wisconsin but also severe storms and tornadoes. May 2024 has the second most tornadoes in the Badger State, while June has had at least three significant severe weather outbreaks. As of late June, there have been 39 confirmed tornadoes in the state, the most since 2021 when a total of 41 tornadoes took place. With July and August still ahead, the potential exists for more storms, some of which could be severe, possibly producing tornadoes.
