Mass Layoffs in Wisconsin Continue as Three Companies Announce Job Cuts This Week

Wisconsin Grapples with Growing List of Mass Layoffs and Job Cuts

In a troubling trend, two additional businesses have announced mass layoffs in Wisconsin, marking the third job cut announcement this week.

Under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, employers with more than 100 full-time workers must provide 60 days’ notice before laying off 50 or more employees at a single site. These must be filed with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.

Charter Communications advised that 122 employees in Fond du Lac will lose their jobs when an entire facility closes in August. Baxter Health Corp is also closing a facility in August. As a result, 32 staff members in Milwaukee, will be cut.

Earlier this week, Sun Nuclear Corporation filed a notice with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. They advised that due to a facility closure, 39 staff in Middleton.

Wisconsin Job Cuts

This is the latest in a growing list of businesses that have recently filed WARN notices.
