Wisconsin Republicans host an early vote rally to mobilize Black voters in Milwaukee

Republicans took their message to Milwaukee Black voters Wednesday with a pitch to take advantage of early voting that opened in the state this week.

Texas Congressman Wesley Hunt and Wisconsin State Senator Julian Bradley, both Black Republicans, spoke to about a dozen voters at the Milwaukee GOP Black Outreach Center on King Drive.

The event aimed to encourage voters to vote early, vote “yes” on a referendum led by Republican lawmakers, to prevent Wisconsin from allowing noncitizens to vote in the future and to support former President Donald Trump and other Republican candidates down the ballot in November.

“In many ways, Milwaukee, will decide the Electoral College,” Wisconsin GOP Chairman Brian Schimming told attendees. “Kamala Harris will be out of a job when election day is done.”

Schimming said attendees could expect more visits from Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance in the final weeks before Election Day. Voters from both parties have seen an influx in politician visits to the state in recent weeks as Democrats and Republicans fight to secure the support of undecided voters and Black voters in Wisconsin.
