HANOVER, PA. – In a precautionary move, Utz Quality Foods, LLC. has announced a voluntary recall of its 2.75 oz. Wavy Original Potato Chips, specifically affecting 88 cases, due to an undeclared milk allergen. This recall was prompted after it was discovered that around 1200 single-serve bags were mistakenly filled with seasoned potato chips instead of the intended plain variety.

This mislabeling poses a risk to individuals with a milk allergy or severe sensitivity, as consuming the product could lead to an allergic reaction. The announcement, made on January 25, 2024, and published by the FDA on January 26, 2024, is limited to retail outlets in New York State, with a primary focus on New York City.

To date, no illnesses related to this recall have been reported.

The affected product can be identified by its UPC code 0-41780-19014-7 and an expiration date of May 06, 2024. Consumers can locate the expiration date in the upper right corner of the bag and the UPC code on the lower right-hand corner.
