Staten Island officials call for deportation of group charged with Manhattan NYPD assault

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – A pair of Staten Island officials said Wednesday that they want to see a group of men charged with assaulting two Manhattan police officers deported. According to information the NYPD released Tuesday, officers attempted to disperse a disorderly group in Manhattan’s Times Square Saturday around 10 p.m. when a physical altercation started with multiple individuals punching and kicking the officers when they tried to take a member of the group into custody.
