1-month-old baby found dead on Staten Island, people of interest in custody: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A one-month-old baby boy was found dead with signs of trauma on Staten Island Saturday morning, and two people of interest are in custody, the NYPD said.

Police responded to NYCHA’s West Brighton Houses, located at 240 Broadway, at 6:46 a.m. and found an unresponsive one-month-old boy with visible signs of trauma to his left arm.

EMS rushed the infant to Richmond University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police said that two people of interest were taken into custody.

The release of the boy’s identity is pending proper family notification.

The medical examiner will determine the child’s cause of death, and the investigation remains ongoing.
