STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – During the week spanning Aug. 26 to Sept. 1, nine vehicles were reported stolen from various locations across Staten Island, according to police data. Nonetheless, the NYPD’s most recent CompStat data indicates a 25% decrease (237 vs. 315) in reported vehicle thefts in the borough for the year up to Sept. 1, compared to the same timeframe in 2023.
