STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Aldi, the discount grocer known for its no-frills selling strategy and competitive prices, opened the doors of its first Staten Island store on Wednesday morning, welcoming a line of about 50 shoppers who eagerly arrived one day ahead of the grand opening to check out what the store has to offer.
