NYC breaks ground on Staten Island waterfront project

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Officials held a ceremonial groundbreaking in Stapleton Friday for a portion of a plan they say will transform Staten Island’s North Shore. New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) President and CEO Andrew Kimball led the groundbreaking for 12 acres of open space that will connect the Stapleton waterfront esplanade to the rest of the project area of the North Shore Action Plan that stretches from that neighborhood to New Brighton.
