STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Four vehicle thefts were reported on Staten Island during the week of Sept. 16 through 22, according to NYPD data. Despite the number, the amount of automobile thefts reported in the borough this year has decreased. Car thefts reported through Sept. 22 dropped 23% (257 vs. 334) when compared to the same period in 2023, according to the NYPD’s latest CompStat figures.
