NYPD: Boy, 17, facing multiple charges in connection to shots being fired on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – A 17-year-old boy is facing multiple charges Monday, including attempted murder, after allegedly firing a gun in New Brighton, police say. On Wednesday, Aug. 21, at around 5 p.m., the young man allegedly discharged a firearm multiple times in the vicinity of Jersey Street and Winter Avenue before fleeing on foot towards Benzinger Avenue, according to a statement from the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.
